Governance

Though legally a condominium, the style of running Sharingwood could be described as cooperative.

The community elects a Board of Directors (of about 5 people) which meets once a month. The board manages most of the legal and financial logistics of Sharingwood and sets the Agenda for General Meetings. These community-wide General Meetings are held once a month and serve as a venue where people:

  • bring up new suggestions or concerns about the community
  • to vote on policies
  • come to consensus on issues that effect the whole community
  • disseminate general information

To a large extent, most of the significant changes in Sharingwood come through the work of motivated individuals who have specific visions for what they want to see in community.
